Arc. Jide Adekola, MNIA serves as Group Managing Director of Homework Group, a real estate development firm committed to national progress through innovative design. His 19+ years of experience, including 11 years leading Homework Group, encompass collaborations with Nigeria's premier architectural and property companies. He holds a master's degree in property development from Birmingham City University, broadening his perspective beyond Africa and establishing a foundation for global expansion and adherence to international best practices. His academic background also includes an architecture degree from the University of Lagos and executive education from Harvard Business School and the Lagos Business School. As a member of Forbes Business Council, Arc. Jide engages with a global network of forward-thinking leaders and entrepreneurs.

The main functions of the Group Managing Director is to manage the HomeWork Group by the policy directives of the Board of Directors and to advise the Board on matters regarding the Group as requested. In addition to these functions, the Managing Director has numerous statutory duties and powers under relevant legislation relating to the administration and enforcement of the Group’s activities.

The Group Managing Director’s office is supported by a team of administrative staff, the Board Secretariat, Legal Services, Internal Auditor, Operations, and Public Relations.

Goals

  1. 1. Ensure that HomeWork Group and its subsidiaries’ activities support international commitments to sustainable development, conservation, and ethical trade practices.
    2. Ensure transparent and accountable relationships with all external stakeholders, government bodies, communities, and industry partners.
    3. Provide insightful advice to the Board that balances competing priorities such as sustainability, economic growth, and social responsibility.
    4. Strengthen and improve HomeWork Group’s organizational culture, communications, and decision-making capabilities.
    5. Ensure that internal policies, processes, systems, and resources support the efficient and effective delivery of services to clients and stakeholders.
    6. Commit to regularly reviewing Corporate and Strategic Plans to ensure HomeWork Group achieves its goals.
  • The Group Managing Director/Managing Partner is a member of the Governing Board of the Organization.
  • The Group Managing Director is responsible for the company’s overall leadership, direction, performance, internal communications, and organizational efficiency.
  • The Office of Group Managing Director (GMD) assists the Board in carrying out the functions as the executive and administrative head of HomeWork Group. 

 

 

THE OFFICE:

  • Coordinates the activities of the entire HomeWork Group staff. 
  • Is responsible for the Organization’s day-to-day operation and 
  • recommends and develops plans to achieve operating plan objectives. 
  • Manage volunteer activities, interagency coordination, Executive Leadership participation, and other miscellaneous responsibilities.

 

The GMDO includes the following:

The Special Operations Division (SPECIAL PROJECT EXECUTION TEAM): 

Special Operations is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to support HomeWork’s mission. The organization staffs it with a couple of managers.

The Executive Secretariat Division:

Staff are responsible for the notation process and quality assurance, correspondence management, and modal office product coordination.

In addition to the GMD’s component divisions, the following significant offices report to the GMD:

The Executive administrative assistant in the office of the Group Managing Director is a vital function for the management of the HomeWork Group’s office in all administrative aspects, including Calendar management of the GMD, event management, routine daily tasks ensuring onboarding of new associates, handling visitors, first-aid and enabling smooth operations of the office.

 

Training

The training department’s responsibilities include communicating with managers to identify training needs and mapping development plans for teams and individuals. They manage, design, develop, coordinate, and conduct all training programs. Our training department does a dual job sourcing and organizing training for HomeWork Group employees.

 

Cross-functional coordination

  • Coordinate with the leadership team’s administration staff in other regulations for events/meetings.
  • Coordinate with Sales Admin and stand in as a mutual backup as needed.

The Group Managing Director’s Office (GMDO) is a cabinet-level office overseeing the operating departments. The GMDO works with these departments to:

  • Create and successfully enact new policies.
  • Deliver efficient, effective, and responsive services.
  • Implement the central vision.
